Our Story

My name is Seth Amoafo. I moved from Ghana to England in 1991, completed an LLB law degree in 2002, qualified as a UEFA qualified coach in 2002 and completed a PGCE in 2007. I moved to the UAE in 2009 to continue my teaching career.

I was determined to continue my passion in coaching so I quickly found various coaching programs to lend my support including Manchester United Soccer Schools. A year down the line, I noticed there was a real lack of football provision for young children, so I developed a small idea to provide football opportunities to 3-6-year-olds. I and a few like-minded coaches started off with Friday morning sessions at 'The Dome', which is now the Audi garage on Airport Road.

As you can see from the pictures to the left, this small idea has developed a little since then. The ProActive Soccer School is now a multi-award-winning company with over 1,200 weekly participants, access to over 20 facilities including some of the biggest schools, founders of the largest youth league in Abu Dhabi and general supporters of anything football and community-related.

My original vision was to provide a football program that was all about the community. Every child should believe that we care about them as a person and footballer, every parent should trust us to know their child is of paramount importance to us and every facility and client should feel that we respect them.

I am proud that many years later, we are still working with the same vision and objective. Sport is fun and enjoyable and if we can make sure every child that crosses our path leaves us still enthusiastic about sport, I know we have done our job. Thank you to every parent, player and coach that has been on this journey with us. We will keep working hard in the pursuit of excellence.
